The Commonly Used Pigment Violet 23 In The Printing Inks

Pigment Violet 23 is also referred to as Carbazole Violet, a universally useful product & commercial pigment. Its color, a bluish violet shade, is not accessible with other Pigments. It is member of the dioxazine family of heterocyclic compounds, but derived from carbazoles. It is prepared by condensation of chloranil and 3-amino-N-ethylcarbazole. P.V.23 has stimulated interest throughout the printing ink industry. It is frequently utilized in combination with copper phthalocyanine blue pigments to produce reddish shades of blue. P.V 23 is very fast to organic solvents and also exhibit excellent application properties, such as fastness to soap, alkali, and fat.
